I have several IP3M-941B cameras, each broken for various reasons. By combining components of cameras, I have enough parts for a new functioning camera.
When I opened up the bottom of the camera to access the chip board, and replaced it with a working board, after plugging in all cables, the camera will not power on. The red power light turns on, but it never power cycles and initializes the boot sequence. I swapped the good board BACK to the broken camera, and it booted correctly.
Is there a way to swap out the boards on these cameras? Does something need to be reset for them to work with different components? What am I missing?
Thanks

When it comes to the Boards for the cameras one of the hardest things to get right is making sure the Camera cable is connected right.
Then the next thing to note is that not all area 100% the same. So lets says you have a 941 from 2017 and one from 2018 there might have been a change in the lens or something that requires something a little different. In this case, It is best when you take a bad one apart, Mark it as bad, note the SN and try to find one within the same spectrum then look over the boards to see if there was something added to one of the boards..
So what I mean by spectrum. AMC004218 and a AMC0421YA are in different ones and there have been thousands built between. In doing so there might be a different chip or maybe a removed cap, resistor or something on the board that has changed. Looking at my 941 it is older one so my SN is AMC01703B and while it might be the same as ones with purely numbers there are also some cases where they might be things in side that is different.
Also here is where things get very hard. Software that is added are looking for condition within the camera, installing a FW from old say 2017 or 2018 on one camera and another one that is broke with FW from say 2019 it might be that the Camera never comes on because it won't load with the FW installed or the Controller and Camera has issue and start up don't happen.
In the End I would double check the Camera Cable make sure it is seated in the MB well and in the right direction. You would think that it wouldn't matter for the dance However the board with the camera is the brains of the whole system. Also 941 to 941 could work 841 to 941 won't and same with 1051.. Also 941v3 more then likely won't work with the normal 941 (This is a guess never tried) however they are different hardware even the MB is 1/2 the size lol
