Replacing Old System

Post by dlongnecker »

I have a 20 year old DVR system I want to replace (actually need to replace).

The old system uses the coax type cables with a 12 volt power supply to the camera.

My existing cameras are of the FCH-62 type.

I was thinking of getting the Amcrest ProHD 720P 16CH Analog DVR.

Two questions

1) Think it will work with my existing cameras (FCH-62 type).
2) If I replace the cameras with the HDCVI Bullets, will my existing cables work? The existing cameras has the Strip Wire type of power connection and I imagine I can make some sort of adapter so I can avoid rewiring.

Thoughts?

Hello dlongnecker,

1) The chance of the FCH-62 working with HDCVI DVR is very limited. We do not recommend it.
2) The cables if using BNC connector might work but we would recommend using the wires that comes with the system. This is HDCVI new technology and the old wires might be insufficient for the HD cameras.
