Replacement Unit - yay or nay?

I have the AMDV10818-4B-B. The fan is quite noisy. They sent me a new one which is somehow louder than the original. When I contacted them again, they said they could replace the DVR with a new model that has a non-replaceable fan. My fear is that if this fan is too loud, then I can't even replace it. My other option is buying a $13 fan on amazon that many people use to quiet the fan.

Does anyone know if the "new model" is better?

The new model has negligible changes imo. In your situation it just depends on if you're OK with waiting for more time until they ship it to you (and it potentially not working still) or just going with a tried and true $13 to save your time.

Personally I'd just buy the amazon fan.

Yeah, that's what I was leaning towards. It seems everyone says to get the 5v fan, but when I pull out the old one, it's a 12v. Which should I order? Thanks.
