Remote setup for IP8M-T2599EW

Post by camhutch »

Hi everyone - Just purchased an IP8M-T2599EW to test before setting up a home security system. I can view the camera on a browser from my house, but I'm having a hard time setting it up for remote viewing. I've tried amcrestview.com but can't get past the plugin download. I've loaded the app and I can see it when I'm on my home wifi but not on data. Is there a guide for setting up a camera for remote viewing??

Also, this is a turret style camera, but I can't seem to get it to move around using the app. Am I missing something??

Thanks for your help!

Hello welcome to the forum.

Sounds like you will want to remove from app and setup again under p2p and not ip mode.

Next a turret camera isn't ptz. When the data sheet talks about pan and tilt degrees that is manual for setup. They don't move by software

Thank you for the reply, Revo2Maxx. I'm not at home right now but I'll try to setup again with p2p and let you know how it goes. Thanks for the info about ptz control.

OK, that worked! Thanks for the help.

Is it possible to access the camera remotely on a website or do I have to always use the app?

Well there used to be however that was for older slower tech. You can use ASP from remote using p2p. Amcrest Surveillance Pro.
