I have the IP4m-1026 bullet camera installed at the office. My problem is I can't make a simple browser connection to the camera from home.
I think I have everything set up properly. I have a dedicated TCP-IP address at the office. I set a static address and changed the port on the camera. The default port was the same another camera system I'm hoping to replace. I have the port forwarded on my router to the correct internal address.
What makes me think it's all set properly is that I can connect to the camera from my phone using the Android app. I can also connect from my home computer running Windows if I use the Amcrest Surveillance Pro program that came with the camera. I was hoping to simply use Internet Explorer (with the add-on) just to make it a step easier for the boss. In the office, it works well enough. A call to tech support seems to indicate that can't be done from outside the office network. Is that really the case?
Thanks,
Tom
Remote Browser Only Connection
Re: Remote Browser Only Connection
Hello tomgraz ,
If port forwarding is set up properly and the ports are open, you should be able to access the camera interface from outside of the house.
The TCP port and HTTP ports of the camera needs to be forwarded. The Http port should be changed from 8- some other 4 digits number preferably.
Then to access the camera outside, use the Public Ip of the office followed by :httpport number.
