Gang,
I've been fighting with Remote Access for a day or so on this AMDV7208. I spent way too much time on this and finally figured out I was doing something dumb.
Anyway, the first thing I ran into was the problem with the YouTube video. For UPnP configuration it talks about using QuickDDNS. Well, something must have gone wrong because that wasn't even in the drop-down for me to pick. The resolution is to just use amcrestddns.com. The trick is to figure out a proper hostname. You need something unique in front of ".amcrestddns.com." I just used my serial number. Leave the username/password blank and leave the rest at their default values.
So I went through all of that, configured UPnP and it searched and found the router. Everything seemed fine but no matter what I did, I couldn't get it to connect through a browser. I finally bypassed DDNS and just went to http://[router WAN address]:37776. Nothing.
A bunch of checking later, I finally found a web-based port test site and sure enough, 37776 was open. More checking. I finally stopped for dinner and it dawned on me: You're trying to access that address from INSIDE the network. I called a friend and had her try http://[router WAN address]:37776. Worked like a champ.
I then had her try http://[DVR serial number].amcrestddns.com:37776 and it worked too.
So basically, I had it working the entire time and my testing methodology was bogus.

Remote Access - Finally got it working
Re: Remote Access - Finally got it working
Any suggestions if it wont find the router and UPnP is stuck on searching?
