Reinstalling ASH47-w on WIFI nto Smart Home App without reset

Post by omalmals »

I have 5 ASH47-w cameras that were working fine in the Smart Home app. Then we got an upgrade to our internet and the router was reset. Afterwards, all of my ASH47-W cameras said Offline in the SH app but continued to work just fine in Blue Iris. My cameras use wifi 50 ft up in trees so it's not possible to press the reset button, use ethernet, or scan the QR code on the cameras. I was playing around with Config IP and Surveillance Pro hoping to fix my problem, and somehow managed to get one camera to work again without doing a reset or any of those things. I don't know what I did exactly, but apparently there IS some way to REset it up in the Smart Home app when it's already connected to wifi WITHOUT using the hotspot. They all show all of their info s/n, IP, etc. except that the name and password is grayed out. Now the working camera no longer has the name and password grayed. It also has the correct gateway and a new MAC address but same S/N and IP... I think somehow I was able to reset the gateway to the new one, but am not how I did it or even if that's what worked because I can't seem to change it on the other cameras because my changes won't save. Any ideas?

Best option is normally when doing a Router switch is to make sure you system uses the same IP internal IP.. and make sure that you use same SSID and password... Most good quality routers have the ability to add in another SSID I would setup another SSID so the cameras can connect to the name it was setup for and the password it used on that other router.. Then you can manually make changes to your correct setup SSID and password.. Not sure how it is working if they were on Wifi unless there is something that they are connected to that is making them connect with BI using only the IP they were on and the password for the camera.. If they were connected to the Router as the only connection point and that SSID and IP has changed the cameras wouldn't be able to connect to BI.. So maybe you have a multi Router setup like I do and have them connected on another router and that is what you need to log into and make change to work with your new router..
Be Safe.
