Hello,
I like and want to use the postionABS function, but is there something I am missing or a setting that needs to be corrected? When I enter 0 in the Horizontal Angle, it points to north and when I enter 1800 it points to south however, when I enter 900 it should point east but it points west and when I enter 2700 it points east when it should point west. It's like the compass got flipped over upside down. Any ideas?
One more thing, any chance we can fine tune the north position? Looks like it is referencing magnetic north although it's hard to tell seeing that the compass is flipped.
PTZ Function - postionABS
Re: PTZ Function - postionABS
You will have to figure out a formula specific for your camera, to calculate a positionabs that goes to the true position you want to go to. Also, the camera doesn't know where North is.

I get that. Is it possible to set where zero is? I really hate to compare with other manufactures, but I have been able to set others to where north is and that worked very well.
As far as the horizontal setting, is there a reason the devs thought it was a good idea to make it go counter clock wise as opposed to clock wise like a compass?

Re: PTZ Function - postionABS
Sorry to bring up my old thread, but is there any way that the Developers can add the ability to set where 0 degrees (north) is? I found in the overlay section were you can set where north is for the OSD, but because the compass is upside down, that is useless as well. Really would like to see the ability to set 0 degrees on postionABS. I am trying to do some scripting from a web server and that would help out a lot.
