I have ipcamera IP2M-841B. I am the admin. I know I can add users and create a username and password for each account and provide that to separate users. But I have no control if they provide that info to someone else. So I want to restrict access to only certain devices. For example, in remote access I want allow login from the restricted cell phone or PC by giving their MAC address. So that user cant login from some other anonymous devices. Is it possible to do this?

From the camera web interface, you can go to network > IP filter and add MAC address of trusted devices. Please note that if you do not enter the MAC ID of your devices properly, it will lock you out from the camera as well. A hard reset would be required if that happens.

I tried that MAC filter feature in the tool by logging in to the camera within the same network. I entered my laptop MAC address in that column and saved it. Then I power cycled the cameras. Then I tried log in using my mobile app which let me in to the camera and saw live playback. I used mobile app in LTE network as well and still able to log in to the camera. Can you advice with any specific document supporting the feature?

The MAC address white list can only work within a local network. For outside access, you need to use the IP address restriction. So the public IP of the devices to white list needs to be entered.

If the other person uses LTE network from Cellphone, it is difficult to get a static IP for that phone. In that case how to get IP address. Is there a way to white list certain devices?
