I have the 720 4 camera system. I had an electrician install the cameras and run the wires. One of camera's picture blinks alot or goes completely out. Then when I check later, it's back on. When the electrician installed it, it didn't come on initially. He had to go back and move the wires that connect to the camera in order to get it to work.
Do you think I have a bad wire or a bad camera?
It's not easy for me to just move the camera to different location to see if it will work there without any problems as the camera are installed higher than I would like to travel. Also, he had to use toggles to install that one on a plastic soffit. I'm afraid to try and move it.
Problem with one on my cameras
Re: Problem with one on my cameras
I had a similar experience with one of my cameras. It worked, but when I stuffed the plugs through the hold in the soffit, it stopped showing video. I just unplugged and replugged the connectors and then rebooted my DVR and it has been working well since then.
Re: Problem with one on my cameras
I read many of the reviews on Amazon and it seems several people have had this issue. I'm not able to mount and dismount my cameras on a regular basis to fix this issue. That's why I was wondering if it was a bad cable or something else. It happens with both cameras now that are on the back of my house. I used the 100ft cables with both of those cameras. I'm wondering if I should just go buy two new cables for those cameras. Both cameras played when I connected them to make sure they were working before installing them. After installing them, the electrician had to reconnect the cables at the camera end to get them to display. Now, they go out occasionally and come back on by themselves.
Re: Problem with one on my cameras
On one of my cameras the color gets weird and then it blacks out all the time. the p2p doesn't work anymore either. This system is not working very well for me.

I had the same issue with 2 of my cameras. Oddly I tapped both of them sharply with a hard object and they've been fine since.
Re: Problem with one on my cameras
Inoperable cameras occur on my system once in awhile (mainly the outdoor cameras). I am able to reactivate by disconnecting and reconnecting the cables. I spray the outdoor connections with silicon waterproofing and seal with electrical tape tape and problem will not reoccur for a year+. Agree that hard-to-access cameras could be problematic.
