Possible Interference?

Post by treborg17 »

I have 6 model IP2M-842B cameras and an NV4108 nvr. I have a Linksys 802.11ac router and 2 Linksys range extenders. I currently have 4 cameras installed. Two of my cameras work 95% of the time with only an occasional "login return time error" which clears itself eventually. My other 2 cameras mounted on my garage exterior wall operate fro sometimes up to a day or so and then I get the "login return time error" and they will not function again until I unplug and plugin the power. They reconnect and then after a time they fail again. I have taken one of my other cameras and temporarily placed it in those locations and they act the same way. Both locations provide a 64% connection strength. The other two locations provide 80 to 100 percent connection strength. Is that difference enough to cause the cameras to stop working and require a power off/on to re-connect? Does Bluetooth on my car stereos interfere? Thanks in advance.

would probably need to know more about the network topology to figure this out. are the two range extenders chaining across themselves to extend the range twice? I'm not sure how those work but im using wireless distribution system in dd-wrt firmware and it halves the total bandwidth, i have one access point for each of my two cams. When they were both sharing the same AP it would seem to choke. might want to run a bandwidth check from your phone or something to check how fast and stable the connection is with connecting the phone to each range extender
