First, I love these Amcrest cameras, have three of them, and three others from other companies.
When I view the last one I just bought through the Amcrest Viewer App on my iphone the picture is sharp though a little choppy. I can live with it.
but
when I view it using the following URL http://user:Pwd@ip:port/cgi-bin/mjpg/video.cgi , the stream is there but it is pixelated (if that makes sense). It looks like my sons Minecraft game, picture made up of small squares.
any ideas??

This code is pulling the sub stream of the camera. So the video quality is not as good as the main stream. Also ensure that the Encode mode for sub stream is H.264.

Hi,
Cannot change the substream to H.264, and after I use the mjpg/video.cgi url the main stream changes from H.264 to mjpg?? How and why does that happen unless the url is pulling from the main stream?
