Melvin,
I reported this issue months ago. I talked to a senior member of your support team on the phone numerous times and he finally confirmed that locally configured parameters were being blown away when a cloud account was used. He recommended I delete my cloud account. I did and can now save parameter changes but can no longer access my cameras via the cloud. The tech said this was a known issue and was actively being worked. Has this been fixed? Can users now create cloud accounts without worrying about losing motion detection parameters, overlays, etc.? If not, why and what is the status of the development work need to provide your customers with the functionality we paid for?
Please advise. Thank you.

Melvin, I asked a very simple question. Please respond. If Amcrest would prefer to not respond, please just say, "Amcrest would prefer to not respond." Thank you.

Re: Overlay Settings not being saved
I have the IP3M and have the same problem. I want to run the camera at the max resolution (at least for local SD recording) and the max Amcrest Cloud setting is 1080p. That means my camera settings keep getting reset to 1080p after a few days (usually) of setting it to 3M. Note: I wouldn't mind if only the lower-quality sub stream got sent to the cloud. I want to use the full resolution of the camera for local recording, though!Melvin wrote:Hello jeffarz,
If you want to delete camera from cloud, go to amcrestcloud.com and login. Click on the drop-down next to the camera name on the bottom left and you can delete the camera.
Also, my text overlay (date stamp) keeps getting lost - I assume for the same reason.
Melvin/Amcrest: Can you give us an update on this bug?

Hello brianamcrest,
Have you updated the camera to the latest firmware? And how often does the time stamp disappears on the camera?

Re: Overlay Settings not being saved
Greetings, Same issue here. I see its a long running problem that probably all users have. I have two outdoor bullet cams (ip3m-943) and two indoor (ip1m-841) and all four lose the timestamp after a reboot. Doesn't matter if I manually do it via ip-config, or unplug them, power outage, or scheduled auto maintenance. That's great isn't it? When I am away from home and the city switches power for a few seconds, or the scheduled auto maintenance I have no timestamp. C'mon, issue an update that fixes this! Yes my resolution settings have a mind of their own too. I have the latest firmware. Odd that Amcrest cannot duplicate this very common problem. Whos kidding who at Amcrest? (Windows-10 o/s)

Hello steamer ,
Is your camera running on the latest firmware that is on our website?
https://amcrest.com/firmware
Also are your cameras added to Cloud?

Yes, my IP3M-943 camera has the latest firmware: the 8/31/16 version (it came with that version installed, in fact).Melvin wrote:Hello brianamcrest,

How often the time stamp disappears appears to vary. Sometimes it lasts several days. I've never seen it last a week. I'm not sure how fast it disappears. It does disappear any time I reboot the camera (through the web GUI or via a power cycle).
At the same time the time stamp disappears, some of my other settings are changed, too (camera resolution is reset to 1080p, etc.).
I assume this is the Amcrest Connect settings overriding my local settings. When will that bug be resolved?
Re: Overlay Settings not being saved
Yes Melvin my firmware is the latest 8-31-2016 v2.420.acoo.16r for the IP3M#-943 camera. The only newer one would be for the UK version.
9-9-2016 v2.420.acoo.16r for the IP2M@841 camera.
This is an annoying problem having the timestamp disappear on every re-boot. The Idea of the timestamp not being on a video of a theft or security incursion is a major fault on a so-called "security camera". From what I see here on the forum, Amcrest is not concerned about this important fault. Please tell me when an update with a fix for this is going To be available. Do not tell me this problem cannot be duplicated at Amcrest.

Hello steamer ,
If the camera is added to Amcrest Cloud this is a known issue. We are working on correcting the issue asap.

Re: Overlay Settings not being saved
I had forgot to say that yes, my cameras are all on the cloud. Perhaps I will pull them off and see if this problem goes away. Then Amcrest has lost at least my money. Seventeen months this thread has been going on, no fix yet. I have heard of other cloud services to use, and also I can record to a hidden hard drive from the router. Disappointing...
