Hello
I have a couple of Amcrest cameras and an Amcrest NVR. My goal is to have the cameras on, but not recording until motion is detected. Once motion is detected, video and/or snapshots are to occur. I am having zero luck with the NVR recording motion detection.
The following refer to the Amcres 4018HS NVR
I can turn the camera on, and record 24x7 and it works fine. I turn that off, and turn on the motion detection though, and absolutely nothing is recorded as a video. It captures snapshots and I can make the unit buzz (indicating motion was detected) but the video will not record. The snapshots are saved to the hard drive. For the video detection I have under the Event tab:
Enabled: checked
schedule 24x7
region: Entire field of view, with high sensitivity and low threshold
record channel is checked and the all & 1 buttons are dark with white numbers/all
PTZ and Tour are not checked
snapshot is checked and under setup, the all & 1 are dark with white letters/numbers
voice prompts, show message, send emal and the rest of that line are not checked.
Any ideas or suggestions would be extremely appreciated!

Re: NVR 4108HS, IP2M841 - Capturing motion detection
Hello Bill,
Under settings > storage > Schedule, ensure that the schedule is set for motion detection. You can set the time for the motion recording here and once done this should show up in yellow shade.

Hi Melvin
Currently, the schedule is showing as blue, 24x7. That is supposed to be for alarm and motion detection. What I'm assuming is an audible sound triggering recording too as an alarm? I will change it from the blue to the yellow to see what occurs.
Thank you

Hello,
yes the blue (or green) indicated full time recording. Yellow is motion only . So please change it and see how it works.

Re: NVR 4108HS, IP2M841 - Capturing motion detection
Nope, no change. The schedule was changed from blue to yellow (Motion ONLY). Absolutely nothing was recorded for over 12 hours. Now, I also have the camera recording to a SD card right now, and it recorded fine. The NVR though, just sat there, no video, no snapshots. I also activated the buzzer and walked into the room and I could hear the buzzer in the NVR. So this would indicate that the NVR is seeing me enter the room. I then killed the buzzer and changed the schedule to regular (green) and motion detect (yellow). It immediately started recording to the hard drive. I could use Amcrest Surveilance Pro (ASP) and view the video. So that would indicate that the hard drive is working fine, the NVR is working, the motion detect is working, just the trigger to start the recording or snapshotting when the motion detect is not working properly?
Re: NVR 4108HS, IP2M841 - Capturing motion detection
Hello,
Not sure why its not recording the motion alone. The record channel option should be checked and channel 1 should be checked for channel one . Similarly channel 2 record should be checked while selecting channel 2 from the drop down on the top.
Please give us a call on 1-888-212-7538 so that we can determine if its a faulty NVR.

Just as a closing note in case someone gets a hit via google....I contacted the above support number. 1st grab a good book, it took over 30 minutes to get hold of a human. Boring musing too.
Once I got a tech support, it literally took 1 minute. He had me go to /settings/storage/destination and reset defaults. I then put the entries listed in prior posts, and it worked! Apparently resetting defaults reset some other setting and allowed the settings I wanted to 'take'
Thanks.
