I have not tried your suggestion with acc for secondary and record on the sd card.

I prefer to access the cameras directly using the browser with direct access remotely and use the nvr as backup for recordings(well hidden) in case the camera(s) is/are damaged or stolen. So I want the best video and best audio to view remotely and make sure I have the best backup video and any backup audio(if possible). Guess I will have to leave as is with no audio on NVR....sad

Hello,

If you want the NVR to record audio from the camera, the audio encode mode on the camera should be set to G711 instead of AAC. This needs to be changed from the web interface of the camera.
