nv5216, ash42ip camera, velop

Post by almar59 »

purchased nv5216 nvr with dual 10 tb drives, purchased 5 ash42 ip cameras. also the video doorbell. set all up initially on my velop system. only the doorbell and ONE camera will come into the nvr. the ipconfig tool sees all the cameras. the doorbell camera and other operational one are on a velop extender but still work. none of the others will be seen in the nvr but are seen by the ipconfig tool and are installed successfully in the smart home app. HELP!! calling the support line is almost useless

Hello and welcome to the Forum

Sorry to hear your having some issues.. Yesterday I had an issue with one of my Cameras.. Right now for the sake of an Easy install I have it working Wifi because I don't have any extra ports in the area I am working and it is only 12ft from the Router that this is connected to I can't have any issues with that setup.. Well No that isn't true.. I get it setup Even using Amcrest App Wifi Setup WOW I think this might be the 2nd camera I was able to do this kind of setup with lol.. Anyway All setup, working in app and I go up to add it to my NVR and huh no camera, I know the ip, log in and change a couple of settings and again I try and add to my NVR and no luck.. Problem is the camera is setting in an area behind a wall with Wire Mesh in the walls on both sides and that must be causing the Wifi to not work so well.. I move it so the camera is in the door way connection with no issue.. I put it back where I had it and I access over app and while it don't act like all the others that are connected over Eth0. I plug in Digital Watchdog install camera on computer and within less then a Min the Camera starts to error out.. Drop packages...

I mention this because while I couldn't get anything really to tell me what was going on.. Using Digital Watchdog software did tell me that it has a Bad Signal and because of this I have connection issues.. At one time It acted like it would connect then didn't ..

Plug in camera to Eth0 on Cat5e and issue solved..

Wondering if your issue isn't the same.. Doorbell and 1 camera has ability to make it maybe the Rest of the hardware is to much to try and work over your Wireless AP or Bridge or what ever type of connection your trying to make.. Could be that the device it is trying to work over won't work with all the hardware..

SOrry just guesses as I am not there I don't know the hardware and don't know your system type or how it is all connected...

Cameras and NVRs are not like normal computers They want like more Data Path for good system...
Be Safe.
