No screenshot attachment email

Post by parpar30 »

Hi Everyone,

I have an Amcrest NV4108E NVR and currently one camera, a HOSAFE 2MD4P.

On the Amcrest NVR, I have email enabled under the network settings along with the attachment box checked. I can click the test button and it comes back normal. I do receive the email.

On the event detect and event alrm settings, I have alarm out checked for CH1, show message, alarm upload, and send email are all checked. Snapshot is checked for CH1.

With the above settings, on motion, I receive the show message on the NVR that shows MotionDetect. However, no email is sent that contains the attached snapshot.

If I uncheck either the attachment box on the network settings - email OR uncheck the snapshot box on CH1 on the event detect settings screen, I do receive a text only email about the motion when it occurs.

What am I failing to do to get the snapshot to send as an attachment? I know it will work with this camera as I can use the CMS software that came with it to send a snapshot upon motion. I just really want to use the Amcrest NVR though!

Thanks,
Melvin

Hello parpar30 ,

Please check the settings under Storage > Schedule > Snapshot and ensure that the snapshots recording is scheduled for motion detection there. It will be represented in yellow shade once this is done.

Hi Melvin,

Thank you for your response. I just got off the phone with support. It appears that the HOSAFE 2MD4P camera is not fully compatible with the Amcrest NVR. It does record fine, it just lacks the capability to send the snapshot as an attachment through the Amcrest NVR even though it can do so with the CMS software that came with the camera.

Thanks,
