I don't know if this will help but I thought I'd try. If it's the pro 1080 hd, there's information in the user's manual on page 21 (section 4.9.1 UPnP/DDNS Remote Web Access Setup). You can view/download the manual on the product page at http://www.amcrest.com. There's a dropdown for QUICK DDNS. Sorry, rereading your post and I realize you said all you had available was amcrestddns.

I wasn't able to get DDNS working when I tried and someone on this forum let me know I could view remotely from AmcrestView.com: https://amcrest.com/forum/can-t-downloa ... -t985.html

That proved to be the quickest way for me to view my property from a remote location for now. I even added a second camera last night. I'll probably tackle port forwarding and the DDNS again later when I have time but my priority was to get remote access up and running as quickly as possible.

Sorry I couldn't help with the amcrestddns issue.

Same thing here, no such options in the DropDown List for QuickDDNS

Is there a need to upgrade the software?
How do you upgrade to the latest software?

Hello straightshooter ,

We have Amcrestddns instead of quick ddns now. If you login to the web interface of the camera from a PC or MAC, it will prompt for an upgrade if any firmware update is available. You can also manually download the update and update through then interface by going to setup > System > Upgrade. You can find the current firmware version with the build date under setup > System > Info. You can download latest firmware from https://amcrest.com/firmware
