No power

Post by Arther01 »

So 4 days ago I purchase the indoor 1080p POE camera. I was very happy. Hooked it up to the wall (I have a POE switch) and i was up and running in no time.

I loved it so much I purchase 3 more. 1 - outdoor POE camera, and 2 more indoor one.

I think my luck ran out.. The outdoor one works fine. BOTH the new indoor ones show no power when plugged into the POE. To remove a cable issue I plugged both cameras DIRECTLY into the POE switch... No joy.

Used the wall wart that came with the camera, and that worked I did not test for signal since I don't want the wall wart.. I want the POE, that's why I bought them.

Is there anything I am missing here? I'd hate to have to return these things.

Hello Arther01 ,

It looks like you might have bought the wrong model for indoors. That is the non POE model (WIFI). The model should say IP2m841EB or IP2M-841EW which is the POE version. If it says IP2m841W or IP2m841B it is a wifi model. Inorder to get the wifi model to work in POE set up, you need a POE splitter. The link for that is below.
