No Camera Control with HTTPS enabled

Post by dahai8 »

I have TWO(2) Amcrest IP2M-481-V3
The Pan/Tilt controls do not work over TinyCam Android APP on the Black model of this camera when HTTPS is enabled. It does work on the White version over TinyCam with HTTPS enabled.

I have tried different HTTPS ports, rebuilt the certificate multiple times, verified I have the correct time-zone and UTP server connected and the local time is correct.

The only difference I can find is the firmware version.

White Amcrest (working):
Software Version V2.800.0000000.1.R, Build Date: 2019-09-27
WEB Version V3.2.1.794592
ONVIF Version 18.06(V2.4.5.782676)

Black Amcrest (no Pan/Tilt):
Software Version V2.800.0000000.15.R, Build Date: 2021-07-16
WEB Version V3.2.1.18144
ONVIF Version 20.06(V2.9.0.970440)

The Black Amcrest firmware is current according to the Amcrest web site for this camera model.

I cannot find the White camera Firmware Version on the Amcrest site, and I tried downgrading the firmware to its listed previous version (V2.800.00000000.6.R 2020-03-14) - but if fails and I'm stuck at the V2.800.0000000.15.R version

Any ideas?

I would contact support using the support pages. They might be able to get your camera a FW package to the one you need from 2019 and it also might get the info for the lack of control off to the R&D department to find out why or what the cause might be and get a fix in future release of the FW
Be Safe.

My Bad. I am upgrading from Foscam cameras and had SSL/TLS mode set to Obsolete in TinyCam.
Changed it to 'Modern' and now it works!
