Newbie trying to figure out why time stamp jumps when viewing using a wireless i.p. camera

I am hoping someone can tell me what my issue is here...but I have a new 4mp outdoor wifi camera (IP4-1026W).
When watching the live view the time stamp jumps around...i.e. it doesn't go sequentially : 01,02,03....it goes like 02,06,15,21...
So, I am missing certain live footage for sure when watching....I have not verified if I am missing recorded data because my micro-sd has not arrived.
Is this due to "wifi" strength?
This is new to me, but does the 4mp affect watching it?

Note: I do have another camera (indoor) that does not jump around..its a 2mp camera.
I did a speed check on my internet and am receiving 29-34mb download speed.

Again, a newbie and really need some help here....I am an I.T. guy so anything you recommend I can

update: I just noticed on my phone the LIVE VIEW timestamp is not jumping around...but it is with Amcrest Surveillance Pro on my desktop at work...typically its the other way around.

The short answer is yes, it's probably due to wifi signal strength. I have the same cameras and ended up running Cat5e cable to them which made all the difference in the world. But I'm using an NVR for recording, not SD cards. So, for me, the signal from the camera to the network, and in turn to the NVR must be maintained for a good recording. In your case, it's just the signal to your live view app (you didn't say whether it's a pc or mobile device). So, when you get the SD card, it "may" record fine, but not make it to the live view app.

Reducing frame rate, resolution, and bitrate can all have an effect. Also, motion detection triggers, like motion recording, emails, etc., can also have an effect. And check your settings for main stream vs. sub stream. Make sure the sub stream is enabled and that's what you're viewing on your app since it's much lower resolution and will be less taxing on the wifi signal.

Thanks Mikedj...it's working fine from the AMCREST VIEW app on iphone but not the desktop surveillance pro on desktop at work (away from my home wifi)....my real concern is not missing motion detection recordings...sd card coming in a few days....So, where do I change the rate, resolution, etc;? I get confused where to change these so they are saved for the camera across AMCREST VIEW and AMCREST SURVEILLANCE pro...or, do I have to change it in both?

Thanks again!....

I'm no expert, having just got my system within the last month, but it appears to me that the View Pro app and Surveillance Pro (and even the NVR, I think), send the settings to the camera. So, it doesn't matter where you make changes. Each interface does not necessarily update changes from other interfaces in real time, but reloading generally shows the changes. Also, each interface can have slightly different settings in the same section (like motion detect settings).

Also note that Surveillance Pro seems to want a pretty graphically powerful computer. I do notice sometimes that one or more cameras will start skipping seconds at a time when things get busy (lots of motion detection, etc.), but it's often just Surveillance Pro, not the NVR recording. Other times, I certainly have noticed missing footage in the recording (more-so when I was using wifi than now with hard wires). As I mentioned before, I don't use SD cards, so I can't offer any help there.

Once I installed the camera up on the post (had it sitting on a table in this post), all cleared up. Waiting on micro-sd to see if records during the time jumps. I used a free app DR. WIFI to check wifi on my porch before installing. My app on phone was working well. go figure.

Definitely sounds like it could be just wifi issues. Which means the SD card video "should" be good. Also, I don't recall you saying which video stream you're watching - main or extra. If the main stream is set to high resolution and frame rate, wifi apps can sometimes have a hard time keeping up, depending on the signal, etc.
