I have spent too many hours trying to get my new camera to connect to WiFi, so hope some help can be provided. My camera initially connected wirelessly using the phone app, but immediately began changing addresses, via DHCP. When I followed directions for an earlier model Amcrest IPCam to set the static IP and port forwarding, my newly assigned IP address 192.168.1.108 changes to 192.168.0.108 when trying to set up wireless. Myy router rejects this address as being invalid. I need to set a static address and access the camera wirelessly.
Please provide some step-by-step written directions on how to get this to work. Please also provide me with a user manual specific to this model camera.
Thanks!

Re: New IP3M-956W Need Help to Connect Wirelessly with Static IP Address
Hello lbg908 ,
Assign a statIc IP in the same range of you router to the wireless adapter of the camera(eg:192.168.1.150). For this, login to camera, go to set up > Network > TCP IP > select wireless from the drop down, type in the ip address and correct gateway and click static option and save it. Try wireless set up after this. Please do contact support in case the issue is unresolved.

Re: New IP3M-956W Need Help to Connect Wirelessly with Static IP Address
What router do you have? What you need to do is configure the router to reserve the same ip for the MAC address of your camera so if the camera loses connection and reconnects the router will assign it the same ip every time it connects instead of giving it to another device.
Re: New IP3M-956W Need Help to Connect Wirelessly with Static IP Address
Hi -
After spending much time with tech support on the phone, and purchasing a static ip from my provider, I can now view the camera on my iphone, while 3000 miles away from the location of my camera. BUT - I cannot login and view the camera from the internet. I am used to Foscam IP cameras, but this camera is not functioning like those.
1) I cannot get Blue Iris to connect to the camera.
2) Using Amcrestview in Firefox, it says Device is offline, but device is not offline, it is viewable on my phone, live.
3) Trying to use Amcrest Cloud - tells me email is not valid, and other error messages! It says I must register, then when I attempt to register, it says that email already in use. When I request password reset, it says email is not valid.
4) Trying to login using Amcrestview in Chrome, it repeatedly asks to install the plugin, even after this plugin is already installed.
Please provide more instructions on how to login from outside the network where my camera is connected. I am far away from that location and cannot connect through the LAN.
Thanks.

Hello lbg908 ,
So are you saying you can view it on your Iphone remotely but not from your computer? If you added the camera on the app using your public IP and TCP port, you can use the same IP:http port from a browser to access the camera on a PC.
For this port forwarding must be set up. If the amcrestview does not work for you, this might be ther next option. You could also try to add the camera to Amcrest Surveillance Pro software. Please find the link below.

Re: New IP3M-956W Need Help to Connect Wirelessly with Static IP Address
Hi Melvin,
I tried connecting with Amcrest Surveillance Pro Software, but nothing worked there. We did set up port forwarding while at the remote location.
Would the phone app still work outside the network if I had only set it up with the IP Camera serial number? Is there a way to check what the public IP and TCP port are for this camera from the phone app?
Setting the IP and http port in my browser results in a connection taking too long to respond.

Hello lbg908 ,
The phone app will still work serial number from remote locations. If the camera is added with serial number, there is no way to find the public IP. The TCP port by default is 37777 unless changed. If you can login to camera with ip and http port you can find the TCP port number from the settings.
