The latest fw for IP2M-841 is labled Amcrest_IPC-AWXX_Eng_N_AMCREST_V2.420.AC00.18.R.20190803.bin
i.e. V2.420 but i'v installed version before this which is labled IP2M-841E_V2.520.AC00.18.R.20170629.bin
i.e. V2.5.20
Date in label is newer but why you downgraded version?
It this a type in the label?
Camera now with old fw tells me 2.5.20.AC00.xxxx
And I've read about a lot of problems. Were they corrected? In the stick post about new fw there is not included
the realease version so we cannot know if there was an version before 2.420.AC00.18.R.20190803.bin which was corrected with 2.420.AC00.18.R.20190803.bin
The same gor IP3M-941B...

I am not sure downgrade is thought when it comes to mind. I have 2 One on the NEW 2019 FW and one with the newer then stock 420v from 2017. I just bought from a different person a NEW OLD stock 841 because I wanted to have ability to try out the new fw with old to see what others were talking about when they make comments about functions. In most cases the cameras seem to function about the same with a few little things that might make someone not like the new over the old. However seeing Ihad the old for a week before I bought the New Old Stock one I think as with anything once the kinks was ironed out it has worked just as expected without problem.
So the NEW OLD stock came with 420 2017 then my new one came with 420 2019. When I got a Message on my camera that there was a new update I was worried at first that it would update to 2019 one however it didn't and upgraded to 520 fw from 2017 Just June. The 420 it was loaded with was from March 2017.
So then I wondering if maybe you had like me a 420 FW but the 2017 ver and upgraded to the 520 and thought it was downgrade? I will tell you they STATE DON'T GO BACK to old FW from the JS 420 from 2019 While some say they have. I am not sure as I wasn't there and think they were confused with what FW they really had. To be honest in my mind with it being a different software all together I think it should have a Different FW name so one don't get the 2017 ver mixed up with the 2019 Ver2 version and the person with v2 bricks the camera because they tried to force the update to old....
