Re: New Camera Won't Connect to Network

Personally I don't know. I might have a issue right now with Network lag. It is working fine on 5G, Once I connect to 2.4g the system starts to act strange. I can't load the camera view and things don't want to work within Chrome. Made mistake of upgrading to 2019FW and only have 09 and 12 of 2019 for FW. Before they off loaded the 841 it has new update in 2021 not sure why the 1051 never got a new update.. It isn't the update in FW that is the issue. I have had it running on the current FW for long time. I have Reset it a few times. I can setup to both 2.4 and 5g it just works better on 5g.

I did have an issue with the camera some while ago where the MIC was really bad. Cracked it open and changed the Mic out with one from a 841. They are different Mic but same connector and once it was installed the Audio issue was fixed.

Outside of that this camera has worked well.. I will also admit that I had it outside under a Roof 20 foot squared.. I do live in a very Wet area and have more days of Rain, Snow and Humid then clear. Today was over 90 and rain.

So I did take it apart again for a Fast Visual, There is no Corrosion and all solder pads are still as expected from this type of Electronics. I didn't remove the board however if the bottom looks as clean as new then I would have to guess the other side is as well..

The 1051 does have a Heatsink on the bottom that is used to help keep the main chip cool and the 5g chip. I am not sure if they meant to have the 2.4g that is next to the main chip under the thermal pad. (These cameras should really be hanging) and not mounted on desk, table or shelf unless it was metal shelf to maybe help transfer the heat away.. It could be that the heat from the main chip has caused my 2.4g to start to fail and or have a thermal issue. As I said the camera works fine on 5g. I have not tested Ethernet as I am sure it will work even better then 5g..
Be Safe.
