WOW so confused lol... So before it said that it would be here Saturday as my Day of Delivery. Then I get a Message saying it will be here Monday. Then for Kicks today I thought lets see if there is anything new because last night it said "Oh sorry it looks like your Package is running late. New date between 20th and 23rd. If it isn't here by the 23 then contact Amazon and they will figure out what is going on... Then today it showed Out of Delivery. Amazon Delivers on Sunday. Ok that is cool...
So I got it and was really looking to get things setup and see how it works... Here are some of my First thoughts...
First Package Looks great just like all the other Amcrest Cameras I have bought in the past. I cut off the Plastic, then open the box and find the top filled with a black foam Glued in... Normal looking packaing with manual and and chime install booklet and normal things with add in of the Lets Get started with paperwork for the Smart Home app..
1 thing that kind of bothers me about this... There wasn't anything that I could find that says the AC power Range that is required for installation. At this time my only Power Supply is a 24Vac that is sadly a good quality PSU however maybe might be to good because before any laod is on it the thing supplies 26.4Vac and was afraid that might be to much for the Camera.
SO I wanted to get this thing going.. . Made the connections sadly even without finding any Min 16Vac to 24Vac with a 10% tolerance or anything like that as I would find on other things that require a Power supply that an item don't come with... So connected it on my Bench to get things setup...
First of all Not sure if anyone has touched on this or not BUT when you connect power to the UNIT for the first time Give it some time to get things going... Even with my Large PSU (24Vac 100w is around 4amps) it took a good 20 to 30 seconds for it to come on... That is because of the Circuits inside and how they are built/designed.
So hooked it up and then I went to setup for it to tell me that I need to take off the Cover and press the button the side. Then it talks to you. Then you can finish setting up. Once setup you can then look at the app and what it offers.
I am not sure how this works so I didn't turn them off and save. However I am not sure if it is a flaw or what but when I was looking at zones clicked them all off and I couldn't turn any of them back on so I didn't save because I don't want to turn them all off and not be able to enable say the center and right one. because I didn't save after leaving that area and returning the 3 zones were still marked. I tried it again and still acts the same with all of them off you can't click on to turn it back on. SO until I know for sure I won't turn them all off and save. As long as one is still enabled you can click on others.. Again didn't save so was still there when I returned to the zones... Not sure why it Rings the Camera when the Doorbell is pressed I would think it would only ring your indoor chime..
Didn't like that the Notice I get is so low in volume and could be easy missed witching a movie or chilling away form your indoor chime. Like Tending to the BBQ grill.. Needs little bit of tweaking but we will get it tuned in before long...

Re: My Amcrest Doorbell Delivered today
can you monitor the doorbell's motion detection push notification alert and recording? mine has stopped but the doorbell push notification alert and recording continue to work fine when someone rings the doorbell.
Re: My Amcrest Doorbell Delivered today
Well I am not sure I understand sorry. While my motion is turned off at this time so no alerts are being sent. Before i turned it off I was getting notices if that is what you were asking.
Also I didn't update the FW as I do have a little Tick mark next to it saying I need to however I wasn't sure at this time I wanted to update that as others have been talking about issues and thought it might be something that was turned off in an update so I have not put the new FW in this left it as it came so far.

since you have turned off motion detection, you will not be able to monitor its motion detection function. based on your feedback that you have not updated the firmware, your doorbell should be on previous firmware 1.000.00AC003.0.R.190912.
if you have added the doorbell to the NVR, you can set motion detection from the NVR to trigger motion detection recording and leave motion detection turned off from the smart home app.

Re: My Amcrest Doorbell Delivered today
So interesting when I was in looking at the setup pages in the Smart App I couldn't find an area to change the date to the format I like of month day year. SO i did the change of the time and called it good. Humm now when I made the connection to my DVR by the way I couldn't find how to connect to my non Amcrest Dvr even though I have other Amcrest Cameras connected to it.. So i deleted 841 on Ch 3 on my CVI unit and added the doorbell cam to it.. I can confirm that it does connect to a CVI 7204 Normal I can't say for sure about an S3 I am going to guess seeing it is newer it should be better... However as soon as it connected my Heart sunk. date changed and with all the issues others have had with Bricking the Doorbell camera I was like OMG hope this didn't make some other change that is going to not make it happy. Well I let it run for a little while. Oh and I did get locked out of the Doorbell camera when I first tried to connect it to the DVR because default admin password was changed. So i put in the right Password and rebooted the Camera... Takes some time to turn off.. I was even able to press the button on the camera and record the clip before the power went off... Powered back up and it was playing on my DVR... Oh well I already bought the 8ch NVR lol Should be here Saturday. I am going to put the CVI unit out on the shed connect all my IP cameras on my soon new to me NVR. I just hope my Samsung Ip camera will work on there as well. It is Onvif so it should.. Does say it has limited support for Samsung IP cameras that was why I bought it..
