Motion Settings

Post by mkg526 »

I'm relatively new to PTZ cameras, so please bear with me.

I recently updated my NAS to include (2) bullets along with the existing (2) PTZ cameras . While 3 of the 4 seem to be working steadily, I'm having a freezing issue with one of the PTZs (that's on another thread) and on the working PTZ, I am noticing more of a motion lag than before the bullets were added.

I'm not extremely knowledgeable with settings, so I don't want to just start changing things. Up until the bullets, the day and night settings worked perfectly. Now when there is a lot of motion, the working PTZ refresh is slower and the problem PTZ just freezes (that one I will check power supply as was recommended).

Any suggestions as to what PTZ settings I should check and/or update? Thanks!

Sadly there is a lot of issues that could be causing this..

One it might be that your NAS and not saying it is the issue but it could be that the NAS don't have a Fast Processer and or memory so things that happen take time to process upload and save.. Just so it is known some were setup for 4 or 8 types of camera they could take and some take more but all that puts a load on your Network, NAS device and can cause lags and delay. I have found that best results is Amcrest camera to Amcrest recorder.. FTP works well once you get the thing setup.. I had a 2 HDD NAS for a short time before I moved onto a NVR gave the Nas to my son for just his normal network storage needs..
Be Safe.
