I can't work out why when a motion event occurs, sometimes I only get a video recording and no snapshots and sometimes I get both. Don't settings govern both?
I have set 3x snapshots per event but sometimes only get two and I can't work this out either.
Recordings are to my NAS using NFS protocol.
I have sensitivity set at 94 and the threshold at 8 but pedestrians only trigger the motion event when walking away from the house and not when walking towards it. Motor vehicles are detected every time.
Any ideas?

Re: Motion event sometimes only trigger video.
You didn't mention emails, but this post may help some regarding factors affecting number of snapshots.

Re: Motion event sometimes only trigger video.
Thanks for the link, I hadn't seen that interesting post before.
I mentioned that the connection to my NAS uses NFS protocol and that is because I had constant problems connecting via FTP specifically the first few seconds of each recording was missing. My camera has got no access to the internet and vice versa and emails are not an issue.
My real concern is that despite my sensitivity and threshold settings, people walking towards my house don't trigger the motion event but do when walking away. Additionally it is odd that sometimes (always at night as far as I can tell) I get video recorded without any corresponding snapshots. I would have thought that the event should trigger both.

Re: Motion event sometimes only trigger video.
Yesterday I decided to eliminate the NAS from the equation altogether and set the destination for all recording to the internal SD card. I have just checked the recordings for last night and from midnight until just after dawn there are no snapshots at all. There are almost continuous video recordings for the whole night. Snapshots started just after it became light.
For some reason the trigger to start recording video and that to take a snapshot are different. I cannot work out why except that it has something to do with the available light.
