Live sound using external microphone.

Post by chrish »

Ok I have AMDV7204M-4B-B system and the more I learn to control it the happier it makes me. There's definitely a learning curve to the settings. Here is something I would like to get some tips on..live sound. I bought a 12 volt external microphone and placed it outside by camera #1. I noticed that my dvr has only one input for external microphone and it is enabled only as such in camera 1 setting. Camera>Encode <Audio/video> checked Format PCM, Audio Source 1024kb/s checked <Normal> selected. I have attached the dvr rear rca line out to a amplified speaker and now get super good audio, even a whisper is audibly heard, birds ,cars moving down the street, etc. The sound is only on when channel 1 is highlighted to main screen. When I have multiple screens up the system mutes audio on camera 1. Here is the question...can I get around this some way and have the live sound playing when multiple screens are highlighted and viewing like in the 4 panel display mode? This would include camera 1 obviously! And I'm talking about just with the dvr as I'm not using a pc setup. Thanks for any suggestions in advance.

Hello chrish ,

Audio is only supported in channel one by default. On 4 channel mode you might not get live audio but it can still record audio to channel one.
