is there a easy way to watch home via Amcrest ProHD Camera

Post by pittjin »

:D Last week I bought an Amcrest ProHD Camera---- "ProHD 1080P WiFi Indoor Pan/Tilt Security Cam"---via Amazon.
It took me 3-4 days to install it and to make it work. it's really very nice.

I bought one foscam Fl8910W several years ago. After installation, I copied one line of URL like
"http://[your domain]:[your port]/videostream.cgi?user=[userID]&pwd=[passwd]&rate=1&" to my wife, and she just click it when she want to.

If it needs her to login and to download some plugin when use Amcrest ProHD Camera, she may refuse to use it.

So my question is that "is there a easy way to watch home for Amcrest ProHD Camera?" like "http://[your domain]:[your port]/videostream.cgi?user=[userID]&pwd=[passwd]&rate=1&" for foscam Fl8910W.

thanks

Hello pittjin ,

Yes please find the code to get the video stream (MJPG) of the Amcrest camera below.

http://user:Pwd@ip:port/cgi-bin/mjpg/video.cgi?[channel=<1>]&subtype=1

PS: Replace IP, http port , user name and password in respective fields.

many thanks to Melvin

I set 80 port for my old camera Fl8910W.
I did not set port forwarding for new camera---Amcrest ProHD Camera
what port should I give to new camera?

I feel that AmcrestView does not work if I give a port #(like 8080) to ProHD Camera. So I have to delete port forwarding for this new camera in my Router at last, which, reversely, makes AmcrestView work well.

Hello pittjin ,

You can assign any port in that range of 8080 and it should not matter.

Hi, Melvin:

Format is like following according your instruction:
http://user:Pwd@ip:port/cgi-bin/mjpg/video.cgi ?[channel=<1>]&subtype=1
user: is it “user name” on https://amcrestview.com/ ?
Pwd: is it “password” for the “user name” on https://amcrestview.com/ ?
IP: is it the external IP address for my home Router?
http port: I set port 8080 for my Amcrest ProHD Camera

I replaced “user” with my “user name”, and “Pwd” with my password, “IP” with external IP address, and “port” with 8080, but it does not work at all.
What is the problem?

Pls provide more help
Many thanks

Hello pittjin,

Yes what you have mentioned is correct except the username and password. It should be the username and password of the camera not the Amcrest view account. That is, the username and password you use to login to the camera from a web browser without Amcrestview.com.Also this does not work in IE.
