I've had two IPM-723B cameras installed on our property for the last 4+ years and they were always very reliable. I can't really remember installing them but I recall it being fairly easy using my Android Smartphone, we recently had to upgrade our ISPs modem and of course the network changed names.
In the past I could get both IPM-723B cams to connect to the main router that offers dual-band (2.4/5GHz) on the single/same signal (network name). Or I would connect them to my NightHawk EX7000 while I broadcasted the 2.4GHz network since absolutely no cameras we own seem to have ability to connect to 5GHz. I gave them Static IP addresses since it was easier to log into on the PC's in the house on the same network to get into the Web UI or perform Live Views without the Windows Surveillance Pro software.
After installing the new ISP Modem/Router I had to reconnect my NightHawk Router/Extender and a few other devices in the house. The Wyze cameras we have popped on the new network immediately, even the one in the back garage that gets a weak signal.
I did a hard reset on both my Amcrest Cams that are mounted on the house, one out front literally only about 15 feet from the new Modem/Router.. literally outside under the window. I couldn't get it to connect to the new router but it was able to connect to the NightHawk that is a bit further away in my room. Supposedly the one closer near the window is connected but I can't get a Live View, can't get into the Web UI.. Just getting frustrating plus it's about 90F+ the last few days so I've been trying at night when it cools off.
I had to find the IPs from the Modem's list of devices. As for the 2nd camera it is connected and I am able to log in once in awhile, just seems to be struggling. It has been getting a bit shottier over the last year or two but for the most part always worked great.
I wanted to give them both Static IP addresses like they originally had before this new modem/router. I remember how to do it under settings and they worked great for 4 years.. But difficult to do when they don't seem to want to connect 100%.
I tried reconnecting them a few times, hard resets then using my phone w/ the QR Code and Add New Device. 50% of the time the process actually works. I do not want a P2P setup, I want IP (basic).. as I mentioned I would like to reset them to Static IP addresses so I can log into them easily through the bookmark/favorite on my Internet Explorer (Edge's IE).
At this point I'm about to rip these things off and buy more Wyze cams. I would really hate to get rid of these as they've held up amazing in the elements over the years, freezing cold 10F cold, ice, snow, these things are built tough I give them that.
If the Wyze (2.4 only) cams connected then no reason why these ones should have issues. I just wish I could log on the Web UI and try to change the Wifi Network like I have in the past.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated, the new Verizon modem is a CR1000A.
TLDR: Can't get my IPM-723B cams to connect after installing the new ISP modem. I can get them to connect to my Nighthawk EX7000 when I broadcast the 2.4 signal but they are barely hanging on. I can't get into the Web UI to check the settings or give them Static IP addresses.
I have tried several hard-resets and just not having much luck. I can get them added back to the network using the QR code method.. I'm starting to wonder if they are just dying off or if I am forgetting something. Such a shame as they've worked great the last 4 years and are mounted in some pretty nice spots. I always liked the "old school" style as the family never bothered me to Live View them.. they also just served their purpose 100% and we had one or two incidents with vandalism on the block and they helped the police when someone came onto our property and broke some holiday decorations 2 years ago.
Any advise would be great.. Working with the new Verizon modem CR1000A and a Nighthawk EX7000. Our house is not big, the cameras are both close enough to the modem/routers. One being no more than 15-20 feet away from the ISP router/modem and the other about 15-20 feet from my Nighthawk EX7000.
IPM-723B Having Issues Staying Connected
Re: IPM-723B Having Issues Staying Connected
Update: Reset the Nighthawk (router/extender) and got the camera closer to it connected. Seems like I can Login via Web UI (Edge's IE) and everything is 100%.
I just cannot get a Live View through Amcrest's Surveillance Pro on my desktop, desktop is hardlined into the Nighthawk (same device cam is connected to). But just happy it seems to be working again.. I can always Live View through the Web UI on that desktop or my laptop. Static IP is working 100% so I think I'm set with that camera. Yay.
Surveillance Pro Software on the phone works when it wants. I added the camera manually via IP I setup and works fine.. most of the time heh.
I could care less about the Live View as long as the camera works and captures.. Just a shame the software is not very friendly and utterly annoying trying to find Events. Which is why I prefer the old style Web UI where I can check my Event Log.
Going to go and try to hard reset the other cam again, would prefer it connected to the main ISP router/modem that is 15 feet away.. Worst case scenario I hook it up to the Nighthawk (again).
