IPM-721S - Remote issue

Post by Aztec »

I tried to resolve this issue via Customer Support email - Last response was over 10 days ago!!!

Background - 3 IPM-721S on the network. All firmware up to date.

5 different people using iPhones, iPads to connect via Amcrest View Pro. At times we use Amcrestview.com. Works flawlessly, and has since March of 2016.

However... We have one member who is having issues in her home only. On her network she is unable to view the cameras at all. They get a "Failed to Connect" error on all three cameras. If she uses her phone and goes off wifi to connect over cellular she has no issues. At times she can jump back onto her wifi network without issue. The feed will continue to stream live over the home network. The connection worked flawlessly in the past. No settings have been changed by her making this all the more puzzling. Also, everyone else who lives outside this home network do not have any issues connecting.

Her provider is Comporium, using a Netgear router. I verified my devices are blocked while on her network also. My laptop, iPad and phone all blocked. Are there any known issues with Comporium? Or are there settings / ports we should make sure are enabled to hopefully resolve this issue?

I have directly connected her PC up to the modem bypassing the router without any success. I mention this because I know it will be asked. This is why I'm thinking it is a setting on the modem, or Comporium that is the issue.

Hello Aztec,

So it appears that from the Comporium Network the app is failing to connect to the camera via the P2p server. A work around would be to try accessing the camera through Ip/Domain method instead of the QR code. You need to set up port forwarding on the router ( at the camera location)for this. Specifically the TCP port for all three cams should be assigned uniquely and port forwarded. Please contact Support if you need any help with that.
