I have reviewed all of the schedules and alarm settings on the device via the web UI. Not are set to enabled under any category. I also have all of the schedules turned off. I have 2 IPM-721s camreas that are constantly writing *.mp4_ files to a defined FTP destination. I would only like the device to record during a motion event when motion is enabled.
Both devices are running : 2.420.AC00.16.R, build : 2016-09-09
IPM-721S - Constantly Recording
Re: IPM-721S - Constantly Recording
Hello merner ,
1) Under camera setup > Storage > Schedule > Set up, ensure general recording is turned off. The general record is shown in green color on the schedule graph.
2) Under camera setup > Storage > Destination > path, ensure only motion box is checked.

Re: IPM-721S - Constantly Recording
I have validated these settings and they appear correct. Motion detection is the only item selected in the path. Motion events are not enabled and the schedule does not have any general times selected. It continues to dump files to the FTP destination. I have defaulted the device and re-set the settings but the problem still occurs. I have attached some images.

As a follow up the same occurs with the SD card set as the destination.

Re: IPM-721S - Constantly Recording
Hello merner ,
I see in the second image that the Motion detect check box is not enabled. Please check if that is the case.
Anyway it should not be recording all the time with regular recording turned off.
You can also try hard resetting the camera. For this, you need to press and hold the indicator light on the back of the camera for 10 - 15 seconds. The light will turn red and the camera will do its initial pan/tilt after this. You need to set up the camera once again after this as it will reset all the settings
