I recently purchased my first Amcrest, the IP8M-2796EW-AI, wanting to save the files to a network drive. I have an NVME drive on a Raspberry Pi 4 that I use for storage. The Amcrest was unable to connect via SFTP or FTP even though multiple other computers are able to connect fine. I was able to get it to connect via NAS (NFS) and it will save MP4 files but 99% of them are corrupt and unplayable. It started out fine for the first couple of hours where they were all playable. The files seem to be created, and are 1-10MB but almost none of them will play on multiple computers. I tried switching back to H.264 after I had changed to H.265 and that made no difference. I've gone as far as resetting the camera to defaults and that has made no change. Is this a common problem?
This camera is either defective or a joke because the only storage option that works is SD card. The entire reason for this POE camera was to store the video away from the camera. They appear to have changed the onboard API so I can't even use scripts for downloading files from the SD card on a schedule.

-------------
Try using an Amcrest NVR for storage, and Amcrest Surveillance Pro to download files to PC or MAC.
You can also use Amcrest Surveillance Pro to live view camera or replay SD card or NVR files. And you can use Amcrest View Pro app on local or remote android/ios phones/tablets to live view camera or replay SD card or NVR files.

I have an Amcrest IP5M-1190. I’ve been able to configure the camera to FTP continuous video to a raspberry pi 4 with a 5T USB3 hard drive. Is that something like your goal?
