IP8M-2496EB Resolution Issues

Post by weswitt »

I have 10 of the IP8M-2496EB cameras. I've noticed that the substream video resolution does NOT match the setting in the video configuration. Setting the video resolution to 648x480 or 704x480 produces a video stream with a resolution of 854x480. Is this a known firmware bug in these cameras??

Personally have not heard of that issue. I asked and was told they also have not heard of the issue. So I would make a Ticket so they can try to work with you in more detail to get it in to the R&D for solution if there is a issue. Here is the area for your camera, at the top of the page click to submit ticket

Also looking at the Tech Specs for your Camera, I only have the V2 so I can't say, However looking at the specs your camera has 3 steams mine only 2, Looking at the data none of the steams say it supports the 854x480 resolution?

So I guess my question is are you seeing this on a 3rd Party program? or 3rd party recorder? It might be that it don't support the normal D1 or VGA encoding.. Maybe it is setup this way caused by the choice of Viewing format. Like that format would be something like DVD none squish maybe. I personally have never seen it.

agreed that the camera does not support 854x480 resolution. i see the resolution by viewing the camera in vlc. in vlc i can take a snapshot and then check the dimensions of the snapshot. i also have 10 newer AI amcrest cameras and their resolution looks perfect in vlc.

Yeah that is strange. Looked at mine in VLC and mine as expected at D1 format so maybe something to do with the FW your running.

I am sure you have, However have you tried to just modify the IP for the one that isn't working from one that is and see if it sets up in a different format? Also looking at main does it come up in the right format? Again don't have a normal one in front of me and my v2 works as expected..

If you haven't already I would for sure look and sending a ticket.

Here is somethings to try. I would Reset, and setup again and test, if that didn't change anything, I would install the FW, If only one offered is one installed re install the FW and see if that fixes anything. If there is more then 1 offered try them both. I know all this can be a pain as one wants things to work as expected I would try and see if any of that corrects it. Maybe if say your FW is newer and the older works right then the R&D would have something to start with in fixing if able too. I personally not sure seeing there is a V2 might have done away with the normal line..

Sorry wasn't more help. Hope things get sorted for you.
