Try as I might, I don't see anything but a dual-axis adjustment on these new mounts. This makes it very difficult to get the cameras aligned properly. Why has Amcrest simplified the mount so much that it's almost unusable to get the proper orientation?
With this latest generation of mounts, you can rotate the camera in the mount and you can pivot it on one axis, but that's it. At least the early IP8M-2496 mounts looked to be able to rotate the whole barrel so that the direction of the swivel could be changed. This gave some additional flexibility at least.
Are there any aftermarket mounts that will work with these? It's a horrible failure in an otherwise good camera.
IP8M-2496/2597 mounts are horrible

I have found that if I release the screw a little more, I can get the third axis. As you twist, it will click into the next "lock point". While the screw is lose, you can adjust all 3 axis at once and lock it down. And for those reading this that haven't bought one yet, it is a normal sized screw and not a tiny screw that you need a special screwdriver for. Loosen one screw, aim, tighten and done!
