I am looking for some advice on how to hook up an external speaker and mic to an IP4M-1053EW camera, as well as some suggested speakers and mics that would work with this camera.
Thanks, Ryan
IP4M-1053EW Speaker and Mic Suggestions?
Re: IP4M-1053EW Speaker and Mic Suggestions?
Hello and Welcome to the forum..
When it comes to hardware it is hard to kind of give ideas without knowing what kind of Budget your working with.. Mics and speakers can be hard picks and there are some very costly ones to some very cheap ones.. What is important is are you looking for something that is well under cover so water proof isn't 100% needed or is it something that would need to be water proof...
I have a Few Mics and sadly to be honest my best one isn't to costly today not as much as it was when I bought it anyway and that is a Hikvision DS-2FP2020.. Works well I do also have some Cheap mics I made myself off of Kits bought form China.. While they are not as nice and don't have a cool housing they have worked ok for my needs..
Also may want to double check your Location and make sure that you can even record audio without consent and if you can get away with just doing what I have done and display a Sign saying that I record both Audio and Video and anyone that enters agrees to be recorded.

Re: IP4M-1053EW Speaker and Mic Suggestions?
Hi and thanks for the reply.
My setup is under a nice dry porch, up around the top inside edge. Wiring is all protected. I would like to stay under $100 for this first try. The Hikvision DS-2FP2020 looks good to me. This is a POE setup, so it looks like I'd need to get a POE splitter with +12V output to power the mic?
Any suggestion for a speaker setup? Nothing fantastic, just functional to get me going in the right direction.
Thanks for the legality question - I'll definitely look into that!

Re: IP4M-1053EW Speaker and Mic Suggestions?
There are many things you can use but to be honest I would just use what you think will fit your area.. I have a Loud speaker for mine in the back yard that goes from camera to amp to the loud speaker.. I also have 2 Jensen Marine White grill speakers for my front and back doors. These also go to an amp.. The front door amp needs to be replaced so for the time being only speaker on the front door is my Doorbell camera.. Mic is still there and both seem to work well.. Both meaning my doorbell camera and the Hikvision mic.. One way audio is better then no audio.. Some times the doorbell has missing audio so I can get it from my other camera that comes in clear besides when it rains then i just hear loads of rain lol.. Also Crickets right now are getting loud lol.. However when someone talks that is closer it does a good job of hearing the voice over the bugs...
