Can this be done without computer, only have a monitor hooked up to NVR? Will I need to hook up laptop to make adjustment to this ? Thanks for any suggestions,I have learned a lot from this forum and have my cameras working pretty good.

Sadly I don't know of any way other then Computer to Camera adjustments. I mean in the NVR if you wanted to have your camera working in B/W you could have the NVR tell the Camera to work in B/W but nothing comes up for IR adjustments after

So there is very limited things you can change over the NVR. Most of the settings for the Camera are going to be done over a Computer to Camera connection.

Thanks Revo2Maxx
Can I do this with a laptop connected to the nvr? I have no internet at the site. Would I just use network cable between NVR and computer?

There are a few things one can do to connect.. I am not sure if your NVR is POE and your camera is so I am going to guess that it might be as well...

So with that some people use a POE Injector off to the side of the POE NVR and on the days that one needs to access the camera they will take the camera from the POE port on the Back of the NVR and plug into the Injector. Then using a Desktop or Laptop in your case and others... One can make the changes they want to make save and then plug it back into the POE NVR...

Another way is not that everyone has a POE Switch, However in my Case I have a 24 port POE Switch, This switch is connected to my 24 port Giga Switch and in turn my networks can access things without plugging into the Injector and can access the camera when I want...

Another Option and while I can't say that it works as some cameras it will and some won't However with yours being POE it most times will need the Injector or Switch option. On some other cameras that have a Normal power supply connected to the camera the person could just unplug the camera from the NVR and connect to a Computer as long as the person has a Static IP... This option may not work in your case. But for others that might be needed info for them to make come changes so I thought I would add it.. Camera to Laptop both on Static Ip that is in the range of each other like 10.0.0.200 for the camera and 10.0.0.220 for the laptop. Make connection between 2 and could work that way... Not all cameras will work like this some do.. Not sure if Amcrest ones will I have not had need to try..

Some NVR's have a Dynamic Host or a Virtual Host option and with that clicked on some people can plug into the back of the NVR and have ability to work though on the Camera ...

Hello Revo2Maxx
Back for more advice, need to connect to these cameras without internet to set IR lights. Looking at BV-Tech Single Port Gigabit PoE Injector (POE-I100GL) to power the camera. So with this injector and my laptop will I be able to make these adjustments? Not sure why it can't be done with them hooked to nvr. But if this will work I will get it ordered.

Yes you can use your laptop and a POE injector and that is most times how business setup when they have a POE NVR. They will connect the POE Injector in the System Closet along with a Setup Server or in your case a Laptop. When there is adjustment need to be made they will Unplug the camera form the NVR and connect to the Injector, Log into the camera over Server/Computer or in your case the laptop, Then make the adjustments needed and once all done and saved they will remove from the injector connect back to NVR and all is well...

Other people also might not have a NVR with POE and they can just use the system as it is without needing to un plug to make changes.. Seeing they don't have PORTS on the back of the NVR besides the normal one for the NVR... POE offers Security from people having access to your cameras over the internet... Some POE NVR's might have 16ch with 8 having PORTS and the other 8 going over the normal NVR port... Also the 8ch could have a 4port POE as well and 4 outside... So as long as the injector that your looking at is the right type for your camera.. Meaning if your camera is a POE+ and the Injector is only a POE then it wouldn't work but if your camera only needs POE and it is POE then all good... Just remember a POE plus camera cant work on a POE port.. But a POE camera can work on a POE + system

Thanks for all the Great info Revo2Maxx, I think it would be smarter for me to just get this one.
BV-Tech Single Gigabit Port Power over Ethernet Plus PoE+ Injector, not much more money and it should work for my needs. Just thinking ahead so POE + system is better bargain.

Yes for sure... IF you will have other cameras in the future that are POE+ then it would be better to have one that will work for all your needs so you don't have to buy more hardware that is what I do anyway wait I just buy more cameras lol JK yeah of the + not much more then I would get it.. Most cases in less it is some Cheapo Brand they work backwards.. Most of them will state POE+ Only if not POE workable keep that in mind when buying things...
