Hi
My IP3M-943W has been working well for some time. Early this month it would not allow me to access the live feed from my phone it said unauthorized. It has a wired connection to my network however camera doesn't show up on my list of networked devices in my router anymore.
I thought ok I'll just give it a factory reset and start again. When I took the back off the camera to reveal the reset button I was greeted to an unblinking red light. I held down the reset button for 30 seconds. It eventually shows a solid green light and a solid red light. however 30 seconds or so later it goes back to just the solid red light.
I've tried removing the SD card, turning the power off to the camera, removing the network cable. Still no joy.
Any idea on what I can do to make it work again or has it come to the end of its life?
Many thanks in advance.
IP3M-943W unable to reset
Re: IP3M-943W unable to reset
Hello and welcome to the Forum
Sorry to hear about the issues.. I am not sure about the camera life there are some factors in what can keep them living long and or have a short life... However before calling it dead I have to ask a few things to clear up what we are dealing with...
1, is this a Wifi or Wired only camera? if Wired is it Poe even though you didn't have the E in the title I have to ask?
2, While this is a pain if Wifi have you tried to bring this closer to your network to make a connection and if wired have you ran a known good cable to the location to test for bad cabling?
3, before doing a Reset of the camera or even after have you done a System wide Reboot for your NVR, Router, Switches (IF Managed) and other things that are between your camera and Recording hardware?
4, and could have been 1st really but have you tried a Different Power Supply for the Camera?
This is the 4 Most common fail for the CCTV outside of Network Configuration issues. However having a Reset and still no working sounds like something 1-4 could cure if the camera isn't dead...
