IP3M-943W Strange primary stream

Post by Ever10 »

The primary feed on my camera almost looks like a cartoon. It's mostly black and white with some weird splashes of color in some places. When I change the settings (bring it down to 720P or lower or change the FPS) it looks beautiful for a few seconds and then pops back to the cartoon. The substream looks just fine, but I cannot get that to show up through my icam software.

If someone could please help me fix the primary or let me know how I can get the substream through 3rd party app, I would be very grateful.

Hello Ever10,

May I know which software you are using? It could be that the resolution of the PC is not good to display at higher resolution or this can be a network issue. The following CGI code can fetch the sub stream on a browser.

http://user:Pwd@ip:port/cgi-bin/mjpg/video.cgi?[channel=<channelno>]&subtype=1

Thanks for the reply...I am using SKJM icam pro. The irregularities can be seen on multiple computers and also on my phone with the app specifically for the camera. As for the network, I have very fast wifi speed and a good signal...all other cameras on my network work beautifully. I have seen this issue with the IP3M-943 even indoors roughly 5 feet from the router.

Also, I have tried that cgi code and get nothing...no picture at all comes up. I'm not sure what I am doing wrong there. Maybe I have the channel number wrong? I am not sure what that number refers to.

Thanks

Hello Ever10,

The channel you can just put '1'. The ip:port part you can just type the ip address of the camera if the http port is 80. Does the cameas web interface exhibit the problem?

Yes, I do see the problem with the web interface. I don't understand why I can change the settings to match the substream exactly but still see the issue. If they are putting out the same stream, same quality and everything why does it only come out clean with the substream?

I would be fine with it if I could get the substream to work with my software. I've tried that with 1 as the channel along with many other combinations. I can only get the faulty primary stream or nothing at all.

Well, the sub stream is now worse than the main. Completely unusable at this point. I've come to the conclusion that the issue is this camera is garbage and will be returned.
