IP2M-846 Firmware Bug - Camera does a "Lens Init" every 210 seconds

I just purchased two of the IP2M-846B cameras. BOTH of them have this same problem. To be more clear about the issue, what is happening is the cameras are doing a "lens init" every 3½ minutes (exactly).

This is a huge problem as the Lens Init triggers motion detection. I put one of my new cameras up on AmcrestCloud.com and you can see in the history the motion detection triggers like clockwork 17 TIMES AN HOUR. I get email notifications and I am now on notification 519. These cameras are $350/ea and supposed to be Amcrest top-of-the-line indoor PTZ camera so I am quite upset.

I looked on their website for a new firmware and there is NOTHING for the 846, not even an old firmware or any manual.

OK, so I called tech support and they connected to my system remotely and confirmed the bug (the two cameras run a Lens Init every 3½ minutes). Support took my name and phone number and said that Level 2 support would call me within 24 hours; it has now been 30 hours but no contact of any kind and no response on this forum.

At what point to I give up and return the two units? I'm sitting on $700 worth of cameras that are not working properly. I spent a lot of time looking for a quality wireless PTZ and this 846 unit was the only candidate in my budget (<$500). I don't see a comparable unit from Foscam, maybe the R4W but it is not optical zoom. Do I need to go to Axis? It seems to blow my budget.

Does anyone have suggestions for a <$500 indoor wifi PTZ (4x min)? All ideas are appreciated. Thanks.

Still looking for a fix to this issue. I have also replicated it. Camera is quite good otherwise, but this Lens Init issue needs to be fixed. Come on Amcrest....

Is this the POE version of the camera? If so, you can download the latest firmware from our website which has fixed the issue/ For the wifi version, we do not have the firmware yet.

I could not find any firmware updates on the Amcrest support site.
When will a firmware update be released for the IP2M-846B camera that addresses issues with the camera’s focus which constantly changes even when set to manual, and not being able to change the watermark that is displayed on the live feed?

In addition to my earlier post, I too have observed the Lens Init issue, however in my case it happens randomly and not at a specific time interval. It will occur after 60 seconds, several minutes or even after an hour.
