IP2M-844E says I need a plugin for web view but I already have it.

Bought this to replace a defective IP3M-956W since I couldn't get a replacement due to being out of stock. Web view works fine for my other cam. I've tried resetting restarting both computers and the cam. I even reflashed the firmware. I've let it sit for an hour just to see if anything would happen.

Hello Johnx ,

Please try going to the settings for Google Chrome on the top right and then go to extensions and make sure that the 'amcrest web view' is enabled. If that does not work you can try deleting the web view and re installing it. If that still does not work I suggest using another browser like IE or Firefox if possible.

The extension is working. The other cams work fine using it under chrome. Trying to use IE, it just redirects me to download the extension for chrome. I reinstalled the plugin and same problem. I downloaded firefox and it works on that it but I'll stick with chrome since it's supposed to be more secure and already synced across all systems and phones. I guess i'll return it and try another one that works with my current configuration that I'm happy with. If only the IP2M-841 was weatherproof.

I have also installed the plugin on Chrome even though I'm not too keen on needing to give up those permissions to just view and control the camera. Regardless, it still says to install the plugin. It's installed and enabled. I tried in firefox and the plugin prompt tries to download a .bz2 archive from the camera, itself and gets a 404 not found. The Android "Pro" app has crashed several times. My first hour with this camera is proving very frustrating.

Hello joetech ,

Sorry to hear that. It seems to be an issue specific to your computer as usually it works on IE and firefox without issues. Could you please give the Amcrest Surveillance Pro a try?
