IP2M-841B with "Failed to connect" when using LTE on iPhone iOS10

Post by Thanh8899 »

Hi all,

I upgraded my iPhone 6s to latest iOS10 and also updated Amcrest View Pro app to version 3.40.0050.

If I have wifi connection like at home or in office, the app works fine, I can live stream my Amcrest ProHD cameras.
However, if I go outside and using LTE network (T-mobile), it always show "Failed to connect".

I also try to update the firmware of all the cameras I have to the latest version. Delete app, reinstall, reconnect all the cameras, but issue remains.

Can someone experience this or Amcrest technician help me please?

Hello Thanh8899,

Once you are connected to the wifi and the app is working, select SD mode from below the video feed instead of HD. Then try to connect with same configuration when you are away on 4g and see if it works. Sometimes it can be due to low network speed in some areas.

Hi Melvin, thank you for replying,

However, I tried what you say, but the fact is that I always use the camera on SD mode, my configuration for that SD mode of the camera is really low:

Encode: H.264H
Video: on
Audio: on
Resolution: VGA
Frame Rate: 10
Bit rate type: CBR
Bitrate: 512

When I use the LTE network, I do a speed-test
Download: 15.72 Mbps
Upload: 21.83 Mbps

but the problem still happens!

Hello Thanh8899 ,

Not sure what is causing this issue. I guess you have added the camera using the serial number. What you can try is to add the camera with IP/Domain set up. This will require you to set up port forwarding in your router. Please contact our support if you need help with that.
