Last night my camera started recording events at 5 minute intervals for 5 minutes each the entire night and stopped doing this in the morning. I do not have anything set for it to do this. What is the deal?

I am going to guess that your system might be setup in the Setup, Storage, Record control and might have been changed from 8min that it is normally setup for to 5 min.. Then maybe as I don't know your systems setup maybe it was Raining or something was causing the system to just do recording all night..
Is your cameras Bar in Blue or Yellow for the time line.. Also might want to look at all alarms for the camera to make sure there was nothing setup on error to record again it could record as you mention at that time of the settings above was changed to 5 as well..
