I have 4 cameras IP2M-841 all connected through ethernet, 3 of them to router, 1 to modem.
This one camera to modem always loses connection when modem restarts, is there any way to fix it?
My second question...do all these ethernet connections slow down my internet? I have serious speed drop after installing the cameras.
Third question is that I connected them through ethernet because I couldn't get them connected to wifi with WPA2 I already have. Is it not possible to do that? I don't want to downgrade my security and I don't like to use long ethernet cable either...
I am not a tech guy, hope my questions make sense.
Thanks in advance.
IP2M-841 wired and wireless connection problems
Re: IP2M-841 wired and wireless connection problems
Hello epepep,
You need to make sure that the camera has a static IP under setup > Network > TCP IP > Ethernet. Also enable auto reboot daily under system > Auto maintain > Reboot.
If all l 4 cams working at the same time, it can use up some bandwidth. The camera can connect to WPA2 - TKIP encryption.
