IP2M-841 v2 - access point

Hi all,

is there a way to have IP2M-841B v2 setup as an access point?

I would like to setup the camera at home (where I have wifi and LAN ) and after setup take the cam outside where is no WIFI. The cam should take videos on SD card if a motion is triggerd. I would like to use PTZ to in order to arrange the camera outside.

So is there a way to connect to the camera with my mobile if not wifi network is around? Can the camera be be setup as access point so I can connect with my mobile, while I am within the wifi range of the cam?

First sadly it don't have a HOT Spot built in so that isn't going to work. However I found out the hard way that you will want to make sure your not using the 2019 or 2020 FW if your looking to setup your camera as a Stand alone camera From what I found out with my Camera being connected to my Network at my Cabin that had lost Internet is that there is no Playback function without an Internet connection.. Sadly 2 hours away form home and no internet until the next monday when they would be out there to fix the issue.. For me I had ability to make a connection to the camera, setup presets but when I went to playback found out after calling support that Internet was required for playback it still has me Puzzled over this but I accept things as it is. One of them update things that I wish was posted as Update Release Notes so I had known. Lucky for me I have other 841's with older FW on it still... SO Now my cabin has older FW camera there in case it looses internet again.. Sometimes when your in that type of area with little to no people around if there is loads of people offline my cabin would be last to get restored.. I need to have the ability to play back my camera footage.

I can not confirm that there is not playback without internet connection.
I blocked internet access for my Amcrest cams on the router.

For me it is working, but there seems to be an issue with the playback function.
Some of the files will not get loaded/played.

Currently I am using fw V2.420.AC00.18.R, Build Date: 2020-02-17

I have opened a ticket with Amcrest.

Amcrest is suggestion to use Samsung Evo SD cards, but even with SanDisk Extreme I get this playback issues,
