Hi all,
I just updated fw of my IP2M-841 to latest version
'Amcrest_IPC-AWXX_Eng_NP_AMCREST_V2.420.AC00.18.R.20191218.bin'
I was hoping for a more stable URL streaming, but the old issue with blurry stream is still existing.
Using following URL: http://IP:port/cgi-bin/mjpg/video.cgi?channel=0&subtype=1
Gives me a video which will turn blurry within a couple of seconds.
Any advice on how to get a stable URL video stream?
thx

Re: IP2M-841 - URL video stream blurry
If it was me I would first try connecting the camera with an ethernet cable. If it makes no diference then it's a problem with the camera and if it's OK over ethernet it's a problem with wi-fi. Either way you can then move forward to try to resolve the issue.

Re: IP2M-841 - URL video stream blurry
I have stable video in TinycamMonitor and in Web-GUI. Only using URL in Browser is acting funny. So it is not connection related.

OK, is there a reason why you're using the SDK for browser access?

Re: IP2M-841 - URL video stream blurry
(I've exceeded the editing timeout) p.s. - It seems to me to be a bandwidth issue. I just tried it on one of my cameras and got the same result as yours. By adjusting the sub stream settings (lowering frame rate to 5 fps) it was resolved. Personally I avoid using the sub stream as I very rarely need it, perhaps just once in a while when I have a quick look at what os happening with my phone

Re: IP2M-841 - URL video stream blurry
p.p.s. - as far as I can tell, no matter which channel/subtype you call, the camera sends the sub-stream. I'm sure greater minds than mine will look at what is happening

Re: IP2M-841 - URL video stream blurry
That http command is using MJPG compression which uses a much larger video stream than H.264 compression which is what TinyCam and Web UI normally use. MJPG is only an option for substream.Tungsten E2 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 26, 2020 3:45 am Using following URL: http://IP:port/cgi-bin/mjpg/video.cgi?channel=0&subtype=1

Why are you using that http command and on what devices? There may be a better way.

Re: IP2M-841 - URL video stream blurry
I run a tablet in kiosk mode to display my FHEM home automation. I have 2 webcams were I want to show the video stream in the html page.
This works fine with Instar webcam, but not with Amcrest.
Do you have any other suggestion?

At the moment for 'routine' monitoring I use SmartPSS which was released as a beta update to Amcrest Suveillance Pro some time ago.
I have also used Internet Explorer and Chrome in the past with multiple home pages in the settings, one for each camera. Once the browser is up and running I dragged the tabs out onto free space on the desktop so that all 3 cameras were visible at the same time.
I've also tried the rtsp feed using VLC media player although that was more when I was experimenting with transcoding/capturing.
It's one of those situations where there are many answers and as far as I can tell none is perfect
, just a matter of what suits you best.
p.s. I do use the sdk but only to capture still images for the weather page on my website.
