Hello everyone! I have a strange one here.
IP2M-841W PTZ camera. Works great, image is sharp, PTZ is responsive. However, only for about 3min. During those 3min, i can access via webUI, stream to my NVR, etc. and everything works. But after that time period, it just falls off the network. Have tried both wifi and ethernet connections.
I recently upgraded it to the latest firmware. unsure if it did that prior. I have tried reloading the latest firmware, and also have reset the camera both through the webUI as well as by holding the reset button until it turns red.
Even after it falls offline, the light on the back of the camera is still green.
Anyone know if this is firmware related, or did my camera decide to just die?
IP2M-841 stops responding after 3min
Re: IP2M-841 stops responding after 3min
Although you say the camera "falls off the network" I suspect that it is like two of my cameras. They seem to go to sleep but if you try pinging the camera it still responds. I have Amcrest Surveillance Pro running on my PC 24/7 and the RTSP feed still works perfectly and as far as I can tell it is only requests to the webui that fail to get a response before they timeout.
I have an application that I built myself to grab snapshots and when the cameras go to sleep, it takes 3 tries to wake them up so they don't timeout.
I have my cameras setup so that they reboot every day and I think that helps to some extent. I haven't been able to get to the bottom of the problem but I believe it to be firmware related. You might find that a factory reset helps.

Re: IP2M-841 stops responding after 3min
Thanks for the response! I don't know that it's simply going to sleep. The network port that the camera is plugged into does continue to blink as normal, but i cannot ping the IP address.
I have already factory reset the camera several times, but that does not seem to help. This last time, I was using the PTZ controls to move the camera around, and the camera locked up mid movement.
I tried downgrading the firmware to one version prior (direct from the Amcrest site), version Amcrest_IPC-AWXX_Eng_NP_AMCREST_V2.420.AC00.18.R.20191218, but it didn't seem to make a difference.

Re: IP2M-841 stops responding after 3min
Try setting the camera's to a Wireless Default Static IP Address if you are running the cameras on WiFi. This will allow the camera's features to move up and down the protocol stack better since the camera won't be running on a Wire and WiFi at the same time.
