I have a problem that where this camera is aimed has a light source at night that I need to mask, but I need to remove the mask during the day.
There is no way to schedule this in the firmware and from what I can research there does not appear to be a way to access a shell to externally automate through a cron script that might do this.
The mask/overlay never changes, just need to enable/disable.
Anybody have any ideas?

I don't believe there are Amcrest API commands to do it.
So find a Windows Macro Recorder program to record a sequence of mouse clicks from the camera Web UI screen for mask disable and for enable. Then auto execute the macros at certain times of day using a script. Perhaps that would work for you.

Thanks jack7. Had that idea as well but screen macros are pretty flaky in my experience.
Perhaps I'll give it a shot since that seems to be the only option.
Cheers.
