IP address resets on IP2M822E

Post by rightkick »

Starting my own thread on this after replying in another.

I set a static IP in the camera and in my router with the MAC tied to it OUTSIDE of the DHCP pool. One of the cameras reboots on it's own and reverts back to an IP outside of my subnet and sometimes to an IP in my subnet but outside of the DHCP pool. It's completely random. The other two were going crazy for a while but seemed to have settled down BUT if I do a test and reboot or disconnect from my switch the revert back to some random IP.

I've looked for a firmware upgrade under support but I only see 2 upgrades available for different cameras. This model is not listed under and of the documentation either.

To say the least I'm pretty aggravated having wasted two days of my life messing with this. Tech support didn't even know what to do. I was going to run my cables this weekend but I'll be damned if I run them then have to pull them back out to return these things.

If it's something I'm doing I'll be the first to call myself an idiot but then we get to call tech support the same as well.

Hello rightkick,

Sorry to hear about the issue. In the router, you can try adding the cameras MAC ID under DHCP reservation. Most routers support this feature and this should work without any additional set up in the camera.
