Internal server error with HTTP snapshot request

Post by lando1234 »

Good evening!

I'm having an issue getting the snapshot.cgi request to work with my IP2M-842. Here's the complete model information...
Amcrest ProHD Outdoor 1080P WiFi Wireless IP Security Bullet Camera - IP67 Weatherproof, 1080P (1920TVL), IP2M-842 (Black)
Software version: 2.212.0000.2.R, build : 2016-01-24

I've tried the following two commands in a few different browsers/PCs: Chrome & Safari (MacOS) Internet Explorer (Windows 7) and Chrome (Ubuntu) remote is a 'user' that I configured on the camera. I also have anonymous access enabled.

I've used the following two requests successfully, and the camera has responded correctly. The first one with a live image, and the second with a dump of the video options. When I examined the traffic from the snapshot.cgi request, the camera consistently responds with "HTTP/1.1 500 Internal Server Error".

When I checked the log in the camera web interface, there were no messages logged.

Do you have any suggestions of other things to try? Is there a firmware update that I need to apply? (I wasn't able to find one on the Amcrest website)

Thank you so much for any help anyone can provide.

Below is the information from wireshark:

Re: Internal server error with HTTP snapshot request

Post by dmohnani »

Hi,

I bought 8 721S indoor cameras. I could get snapshot.cgi work only for 4 of them, and getting http 500 error from rest. Using same shell script in loop to pull snapshots from all.

Please suggest if you got a solution.

Thanks!!
